On May 3rd I got the chance to get out the Isabella Stewart Gardner.  This was my first time there since the opening of the new wing.  The new wing is a much needed improvement over the old wing which is still in use.  Mike, one of the curators of the museum pointed out, that with the creation of the new wing, events and uses of the old from music, dining, and even enterance were all moved over to the new wing.  Be warned though that the do not allow large bags and the use of cameras while in the art galleries.  The new art galleries are impressive in their size and and how they can be customized for different art exhibits.  After looking around in the museum for a bit, I was able to catch one of their concerts in the new Calderwood Hall.  THey have set up the space so that everyone here has a front row seat.  Instead of having the seats go back in rows horizontally, they go vertically.  I was very impressed by the acoustics in the hall as well.  While at the museum, if you get hungry stop on by the G Cafe for a bite.  gardnermuseum.org 280 The Fenway Boston, MA 02115
